A being of mythical beauty and graceful dance, who captivated the attention of Poseidon, the powerful god of the sea. Charmed by Kerkyra’s tempting allure, he fell deeply in love. And so, he abducted his beloved nymph and whisked her away to an unnamed island in the Ionian Sea with clear emerald waters and outstanding natural beauty.
In honour of Kerkyra's divinity, he named the whole island after her.
